From San Jose take the Panamerican Highway (CA1) north towards Liberia. You can either get to the Iguanazul by traveling through Liberia (around 5 hours) or going by way of the New "La Amistad" bridge which is the faster way to Hotel Iguanazul, this will take you about 3.5 hours from San Jose.
